OEA's Compatible Use Program promotes cooperative planning efforts among military installations, ranges and military training corridors and surrounding communities. Technical and financial assistance is provided to State and local governments to plan and implement a Joint Use Study (JLUS), a strategic action plan to achieve compatibility between military mission activities and neighboring civilian communities. JLUS process promotes a partnership among military and host communities through an open, continuous dialogue to address compatibility issues.
Meramec Regional Planning Commission
Formed in 1969, MRPC is a voluntary council of governments serving Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Maries, Osage, Phelps, Pulaski and Washington counties and their respective cities. A professional staff of 28, directed by the MRPC board, offers technical assistance and services, such as grant preparation and administration, housing assistance, transportation planning, environmental planning, ordinance codification, business loans and other services to member communities.
